Things to be careful of
on the day you get a perm
Ideally, it would be best to wash your hair tomorrow night, but if you absolutely must wash your hair before going to bed, that’s fine.
In that case, be sure to dry your hair completely before going to sleep.
Even if you only shower and don’t wash your hair, humidity will still leave moisture in your hair, so it’s a good idea to dry your hair thoroughly after getting out of the bath before going to bed.
Regarding hair coloring, it’s always okay to color just the roots. If you’re coloring your whole head, please wait a week.
Frequently asked
questions about perms
- Is it okay to tie my hair up after getting a perm?
-
If your hair is dry, you can style it, but avoid pulling it tightly or tying it up for extended periods.
Ideally, it’s best to leave your hair as is on the day you get a perm, but that’s understandable on hot days. If you have to tie it up for unavoidable reasons in your daily life, such as needing to tie it up the next day, don’t worry about it.
- Is it okay to use a comb or brush?
-
It’s okay to use a wide-toothed comb to help conditioner work in after shampooing, or before and after showering. Using a fine-toothed comb is not recommended.
When your hair is wet, it’s delicate, so avoid rough handling that could damage it too much. Brushing is fine when your hair is dry.
- How to wash your hair and how to apply conditioner
-
You can shampoo as usual.
Please make sure to rinse both the shampoo and conditioner thoroughly.
When applying conditioner, instead of pulling the perm curls straight, gently grasp and wrap the conditioner around them, twisting as you apply it. It’s recommended to avoid straightening the curls.
You don’t need any special system treatments like those offered at other salons.
In fact, using too many special salon treatments can make your hair difficult to dry, making permed hair harder to style, and can also cause hair damage.
- Do I need a hair treatment product when drying my hair?
-
We highly recommend using this product.
Because you’ve subjected your hair to a significant chemical stress through perming, you need to rely on chemical products to repair it.
It’s a waste of money if you invest in a perm and can’t use it to its full potential.
We recommend “Little Scientist’s Likera Emulsion,” an essential product that properly replenishes the nutrients in your hair.
(It replenishes keratin, the main component of hair. Keratin strengthens hair for several weeks when applied and dried.) In short, it excels at pseudo-repair and damage prevention. If you’d like to purchase it, it’s also available at our Noda salon, so please let us know if you need it.
OLAPLEX、KERASTASE、For those living abroad, I also recommend this brand’s products.
